You Go, Layney Girl!

Yesterday Layne ran in her first race -- a 5K benefit run for Autism at The Riverwalk.  This is part of her training for the half marathon she'll be running in December.   Now, if you know Layne but hadn't heard about this and you think I'm kidding, be assured, she really is doing this!  Could just be the mom in me, but I'm pretty proud and I think she was the best runner out there, and undoubtedly the cutest!

Her goal was to finish in less than 29 minutes -- stellar, I'm telling you!

 Part of her cheering section
She wasn't a contender for a  medal (as far as the race rules and organizers are concerned), but she does get a medal in this Mom's memory book.  The medal for "We've Come This Far by Faith" or "Joy Comes in the Morning" or "I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me"?  I better stop now, I'm getting teary!
You Go, Layney Girl - I love you!
