It's over! I had my surgery on Wednesday, 8/26 -- the Big "H" (hysterectomy)! All I can say is that I feel much better than I expected to at this point. I was prepared for much worse. The pain I've been living with for the past few months is GONE -- and the soreness from surgery is not nearly as bad as the pain I had before surgery. So I am thankful! I'm going to enjoy a few weeks off of work to recover -- but am so looking forward to feeling good again!
This has been quite a year for us; on one hand, it seems like it has just flown by -- it's hard to believe that all we've gone through has happened in just 8 months; on the other hand, it has been a long year!
It started with moving my Grandma in with us in December. The first few months were so much fun -- she was still pretty healthy and her mind was still pretty alert and whole. But then started the rapid downward spiral and for the next few months we did our best to care for her until the Lord finally took her home in May. Just two weeks after Grandma passed away, I started having some physical problems -- which led to my surgery last week.
Through it all, we have been so blessed by such good friends! After Grandma died, we were overwhelmed with cards from our friends. I don't have the words to describe what it feels like to know that so many people were praying for us during those months.
And again this past week God has used this surgery to demonstrate his Love toward us -- through the caring of good friends! I still don't have the words to describe what it feels like to know that so many people are still praying for us and love us so much! We are blessed!
