SOAR Utah Mission Trip 2012 - Days 9 and 10

First, thank you to all who prayed for me. I was able to rejoin the team late yesterday afternoon to prepare for our children's ministry on Sunday. Still wasn't feeling too good but I laid on the floor and coached the kids as they were learning their skits. I am feeling better today. It's not often we are thankful for sickness, but when the team came back yesterday and I learned that the "little hike" was a grueling 6 miles, then I watched Danny and Dennis DRAG themselves in, well honestly, I had to wonder if this wasn't a divine intervention on my behalf!
So I can't tell you much about the hike except to say that they had their morning devotions with Ben, the worship pastor at South Mountain Community Church when they reached the top of the mountain. They left at 8:00 in the morning and didn't get back for lunch until 3:00, but it sounds like they had a great time.
As I mentioned earlier, we spent some time in the afternoon preparing for our ministry on Sunday, then after a quick trip back to our host home for showers, we headed to a local park where we would serve dinner at the Draper Days celebration.
We got to sleep in a bit on Saturday because we didn't have to be back at the park for the continuing Draper Days celebration until 9:30 Our duties Saturday were to be attendants at water stations throughout the park. We did get a 2-hour break at lunch - but we spent that time preparing for Sunday, so when we got home on Saturday night, we were tired!
