1 Down - But It's Really Just Begun...

He did it!  On December 14th, the Husband took his final exam for his first semester of Biblical Hebrew and while he still doesn't know what his grade was for the final exam, I'm proud to say that his final grade for the semester is a B+.    If there was ever a living example of "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," this is it!  I cannot adequately describe the intense studying and hard work this has required of him; my best attempt at summarizing this past semester is to say that it has been consuming -- all consuming.  For the past few months, this is our world...



Everywhere I look, there are stacks of flashcards.  No matter where we go, he carries a little stack of flashcards in his shirt pocket -- and he relentlessly reviews them as we wait at a stoplight, wait in a restaurant, stand in line at a store or while filling the car with gas. 

We celebrated this accomplishment with many of our dear friends -- friends who have encouraged and prayed for both of us -- friends who have confronted and asked challenging, uncomfortable questions when he was at the point of calling it quits.  We celebrated with friends because we realize that each and every one of them is a blessing to us -- a gift from God. 

While it would be a great feeling to think that he's over the hurdle and it should be smooth sailing from here, reality is that this was just the first of several more semesters of Biblical Hebrew -- and then there's Greek. 

So thanks to all who have kept us in your prayers and we covet your continued prayers as Danny continues on in his studies. 

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Congratulations to Danny. I didn't know he had taken on this challenge. What school is he enrolled in? Fresno Pacific?

He is at The Master's Seminary in Sun Valley. He goes down there 2 days a week.
