Happy Birthday to Avery!

It's hard to believe, but our little Avery Grace had her 1st Birthday on Friday, July 3rd! We celebrated "luau style"

And she did not disappoint when it came time for cake...

Just after she was born someone asked me how it felt to be a Grammy -- the best word I could think of to describe the feeling was intoxicating! And now a year later, it's still the best word I can think of to describe how I feel. I just can't get enough of her! I love her name -- Avery Grace -- but I think maybe her middle name should be Happy -- because that's what she is for us. When Avery comes into the house, she makes it a happy place. When I hear Avery's little voice on the phone, she makes my day happy. When I know I'm going to see Avery on the weekend, I'm happy all week long. What a gift she has been! God knew we were going to need some happy in our lives this past year -- and as always, He provided!
