Mission Trip - Day 3

Today was a fun day. This morning my group worked at Project Angel Food. They prepare 1600 meals per day for people with Aids and cancer. It was a fun place to be. Everyone who works there loves to be there and it was just a great atmosphere. Some helped with the cooking and most helped with packaging the food for delivery. The food was excellent. We got to have lunch there when we finished and it was the best food so far. Then we were given the meals to deliver for one route -- which included 9 stops. This is where the afternoon got interesting. We only got off route three or four times but it took us over 2 hours to make all our deliveries. I wasn't the navigator -- just the driver.
When we finished our deliveries we headed for Las Familia Del Pueblo. This is an after-school program for kids K through Sth grade. Kids here are on Easter break too so its kind of just daycare this week -- so we just play all afternoon with the kids. This is where we spend every afternoon.
Tonight we went to a Honduran restaurant for dinner. Food was good. Last night we went to a Nicaraguan restaurant and Sunday night we had Indian food. So dinner is always a fun adventure.
For those who have prayed for me to have a smooth time driving the 15-passenger van -- thank you! God has provided us with a do-able parking space everywhere we have gone and always a fairly easy turnaround spot when we get lost or off track.
Tonight we went to a park after dinner and made up skits to show the rest of the group how we spent our day. Lots of laughing and it was a good time. We also had some down time for visiting within our group -- the part we always look forward to on our trips.
One more day of service before we head home on Thursday. Its going by fast!

Colette,
Thank you so much for blogging during the trip! Rachel obediantly left her phone at home, so the only news I'm getting is from you. Thanks so much and safe travel home!
